These two operations are opposite sides of the same task. Remove pages deletes the pages you select and keeps everything else. You end up with the original PDF minus the pages you removed. Use this when you want to trim a document and the pages you are deleting are not needed anywhere else. Extract pages saves the pages you select as a separate new PDF and keeps the original unchanged. Use this when you want to pull out a specific section — such as pages 5 to 12 — as a standalone document to share, while keeping the full original intact. PDFWix has both tools. Yes. In PDFWix Remove Pages, you can type a page range to select multiple pages quickly — for example, entering '10-40' selects all pages from 10 to 40 for deletion. You can also combine individual pages and ranges: '2, 5, 10-15' deletes pages 2, 5, and 10 through 15 in one operation.
Removing pages does not automatically update page numbers that are printed inside the PDF content (for example, numbers added as text when the document was created). It does update the PDF's internal page index, which means PDF viewer navigation will reflect the new page count. To add clean page numbers after removal, use PDFWix Page Numbers after deleting.

No. Removing pages is a structural operation — the remaining pages are copied directly from the source PDF without re-encoding, re-compressing, or modifying their content. Text, images, fonts, and vector graphics on the remaining pages are bit-for-bit identical to the original.
