Frequently asked questions

Does iPad convert images to PDF without an app?

Yes — the Files app's Create PDF Quick Action has been built in since iPadOS 15. Long-press an image → Quick Actions → Create PDF. On iPadOS 16+ multi-select produces a single multi-page PDF in file-name order.

How do I get the right page order on iPad?

Native Files orders by file name. For drag-to-reorder, use JPG to PDF in Safari — Pencil and touch both work for dragging thumbnails on iPad.

Does Files Quick Action work on iPadOS 17 and 18?

Yes. Quick Actions for images (Create PDF, Markup, Convert Image) work on iPadOS 15, 16, 17 and 18. The menu layout shifted in iPadOS 17 but Create PDF is in the same place.
